Shirley Graham DuBois (11 x 17 poster print)
Shirley Graham Du Bois was a dynamic cultural force and revolutionary intellectual whose tireless advocacy linked artistic expression with the global struggle against racism, colonialism, and exploitation. As an accomplished playwright, composer, and organizer, she understood culture not merely as entertainment, but as a crucial battleground in the fight for liberation. Graham Du Bois's creative works uplifted the dignity, resilience, and revolutionary spirit of Black communities, while her political activism spanned continents, connecting African-American struggles directly to movements against imperialism in Africa and Asia. Beyond her artistry, she played a critical role in nurturing Pan-African unity, collaborating closely with figures like Kwame Nkrumah and supporting independence movements across the continent. Her lifelong commitment to building solidarity through culture and revolutionary praxis made her a central figure in shaping a vision of global justice, affirming that the liberation of African peoples everywhere was inherently tied to the liberation of humanity as a whole.

Supporting independent artists cultural workers under capitalism
Making independent art is not without its challenges. It is not cheap, easy, or quick, and it is often not valued in a material sense. However, artists still need to eat and pay rent.
Contemporary art, media and journalistic praxis, and cultural work more broadly are often exploited in building social movements, yet they are often unstable and precarious at best.
This project offers a free library of downloadable zines and other resources, and your support is appreciated! Right now, the project is not yet making enough money to cover the costs of making, printing, and shipping the materials but with your support we'll get there!
