Claudia Jones (11 x 17 Poster print)

$25.00 USD

Claudia Jones was a brilliant organizer, journalist, and theoretician who stood at the crossroads of Black liberation, socialist feminism, and anti-imperialist internationalism. Born in Trinidad and radicalized in the United States, she became a leading figure in the Communist Party, where she relentlessly challenged both racial capitalism and the patriarchal blind spots of the Left. Her groundbreaking analysis centered the lives of working-class Black women, exposing how race, class, and gender oppression were inseparable under imperialist rule. Exiled to Britain during the height of McCarthyism, Jones continued her revolutionary work by founding the West Indian Gazette and helping launch the Notting Hill Carnival, using culture as a weapon of political affirmation and diasporic unity. She was a tireless advocate for the rights of Caribbean migrants, workers, and women, linking local struggles to a global fight against colonial domination and capitalist exploitation. Claudia Jones’s life remains a model of disciplined internationalism—where theory served struggle, and where culture, organizing, and political clarity moved together toward liberation.
