James Boggs (11 x 17 Poster print)
James Boggs was a revolutionary thinker, auto worker, and organizer who rooted his politics in the lived realities of Black labor in the heart of U.S. industrial capitalism. Born in Alabama and radicalized in Detroit’s auto factories, Boggs brought a sharp, dialectical approach to understanding how automation, imperialism, and racial capitalism were reshaping the terrain of struggle. He rejected mechanical formulas and called instead for revolutionary clarity grounded in concrete conditions—insisting that the fight for Black liberation was inseparable from the fight to build a new, humane society beyond exploitation. Alongside Grace Lee Boggs, he emphasized the role of political education, self-organization, and the transformation of consciousness, especially among those cast aside by both capital and the state. Boggs challenged the movement to move beyond protest alone, and to build power from the ground up through sustained organizing, visionary leadership, and community control. His life was a testament to the belief that revolution is not just an event, but a long process of building, learning, and transforming people into agents of their own liberation.

Supporting independent artists cultural workers under capitalism
Making independent art is not without its challenges. It is not cheap, easy, or quick, and it is often not valued in a material sense. However, artists still need to eat and pay rent.
Contemporary art, media and journalistic praxis, and cultural work more broadly are often exploited in building social movements, yet they are often unstable and precarious at best.
This project offers a free library of downloadable zines and other resources, and your support is appreciated! Right now, the project is not yet making enough money to cover the costs of making, printing, and shipping the materials but with your support we'll get there!
