Queer Liberation (11 x 17 Poster print)
Queer liberation, at its root, is a struggle against the structures that discipline bodies, suppress desire, and enforce hierarchies that serve the interests of capital and empire. It is not merely a fight for inclusion within oppressive systems, but a challenge to the very foundations of heteropatriarchy and the social order that commodifies intimacy, criminalizes difference, and fractures solidarity. From the resistance of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera in the streets, to the everyday defiance of queer people living and loving against the grain of state-sanctioned norms, queer liberation has always aligned itself with the broader struggle of the dispossessed. In colonized and postcolonial contexts, where European moral orders were imposed to divide and control, reclaiming queer identity is part of reclaiming cultural memory, sovereignty, and wholeness. Within a revolutionary horizon, queer liberation is not a side demand—it is essential to dismantling all systems of exploitation, and to building a world where no one is punished for being fully, freely human.
