George Jackson (11 x 17 Poster print)

$25.00 USD

George Jackson was a revolutionary whose life and writings exposed the carceral state as a central pillar of racial capitalism and imperial control. Born into poverty and incarcerated as a young man, Jackson transformed prison into a site of political awakening, study, and organizing—emerging as a powerful theorist of Black liberation and class struggle. As a member of the Black Panther Party and co-founder of the prison-based Marxist collective known as the Black Guerrilla Family, he linked the struggles of incarcerated people to the broader fight against U.S. empire, capitalism, and white supremacy. His book Soledad Brother and his prison writings became essential texts for revolutionaries around the world, articulating a vision of liberation that refused reformism and called for the total dismantling of oppressive systems. Jackson understood that prisons were not broken institutions but functioning tools of state repression, especially against Black radicalism. His assassination by prison guards in 1971 was an attempt to silence a movement—but his legacy endures as a symbol of uncompromising resistance, revolutionary discipline, and the belief that even in the belly of the beast, it is possible to fight and to lead.
